The Importance of Reviews

Do you know how Amazon and other sites determine which books to promote? By their number of positive reviews. Amazon requires authors to have at least 50 reviews before it will add a book to any "suggestions" lists. This is one of the reasons it's so hard for new authors, especially authors who are self publishing, to get found by readers. We aren't being suggested by the major book search engines.

As a reader, have you ever had an author you loved? The best thing you can do to help that author is by posting a review. It doesn't have to be a long review, it doesn't have to be eloquent. Even a short review will help the author. So, when you read a book you love, please go to Amazon or Goodreads and post your review. The few minutes it takes of your time can make a huge difference for the author!
