Enjoying the Sunshine

Sometimes, you have to stop and enjoy the world around you. I'm stuck inside, furiously working away at the newest "Fallen" novel, thinking about deadlines and how am I ever going to get this book out on time. It's been a rough year - I've been working on getting my medications straightened out and dealing with a few mental health issues that have slowed me down.
It's important that I don't work all the time. Sometimes, you need to step outside the patio door, raise your face to the sun, and just let the warmth embrace you. All work and no play is a sure fire way to crash and burn - and write a terrible novel.
Today, I'm glad for the reminder to take a moment to smell the roses, pet the dog, and enjoy the sunshine. These little moments take away from the stress of the day and give my mental work a boost.
